According to reports from the Texas Department of Public Safety, On Monday at approximately 12:16 p.m., on U.S. 287 approximately two miles north of SH 309 Texas Department of Public Safety were called to a two vehicle crash in Navarro County.
The preliminary information shows that a 2012 brown Kia Soul was traveling north on U.S. 287. A 2015 silver Nissan Armada was traveling south on U.S. 287. The Kia attempted to make a left hand turn into a business parking lot. In doing so the Kia failed to yield right of way causing the Nissan to strike the Kia in the front right quarter panel.
The driver of the Kia, 71 year-old, Beverly Burham, of Kerns was taken by air ambulance to Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Dallas with incapacitating injuries. The driver of the Nissan, 38 year-old, Janie Rios, and the passenger 67 year-old, Diburcio Rios, both from Waco, were taken by ambulance to Navarro Regional Hospital with injuries.
The investigation is still on-going and there is no other information available at this time.
