The Navarro County Pro Rodeo took place Friday and Saturday November 22-23 at the Expo Center. Doors opened at 6:00 with Mutton Bustin’ starting at 7:00. The main rodeo events commenced at 8:00, giving attendees plenty of time to check out vendors that were set up outside of the arena.
Vendors and sponsors lined their way into the arena to ensure maximum exposure. Many of them had giveaways for attendees to take home. In addition to concessions, you could also purchase lemonade, holiday decor, and so much more. Throughout the night sponsors and videos were shown to elevate the understanding of each one’s contribution to the community.
Starting with Mutton Bustin, rodeo fans were watching participating kids as they attempted to hold on as long as they could, leaving the stands erupting in laughter.
No matter the time they held on, you could tell that everyone was having a great time.
Later in the evening, there was also a calf scramble for the kids, which consisted of dozens of children running after the chance to secure a ribbon from one of the calves.
Once the rodeo kicked off, participants had 2 days to secure the best time for a chance at winning. To keep the event going, Ronald Burton, famous rodeo clown and bullfighter, had the audience excitedly involved throughout the night. To aid in the entertainment, there was also a dance contest featuring audience members and professional bull wranglers performing tricks.
Guys and gals from all over the state of Texas competed in their respective events on both days. Hoping for the best time of the two days, competitors put their all into the chances they had. From riding to roping, contestants electrified the arena by showcasing their talents. The audience reciprocated the energy by cheering for each person, regardless of the outcome.
