Above you will find an approximate map location of where to find this year’s Spring-Cleaning event in
your town. The City of Wortham Texas Facebook page just announced a City Wide Clean up beginning
April 4th, 2023. This event is only available to those within the Wortham Water District. To have access
to this service, you will need to provide a current utility bill. You must have your name and address
clearly stated on the bill. There is no estimation of when this event ends, so be sure to take advantage of
this first thing. Local general Contractors in the area serving City customers will not be permitted. This
event is only to help with yard & home cleanup for those who do not have the means to do this on their
own.
After reaching out to City Hall, it has been explained as 2 roll off dumpsters have been purchased. They
will be dropped off behind the Dollar General just off N 2nd Street. (See approx. Location in map). This
incentive to get rid of some clutter around your property not only benefits you but helps in the efforts to
clean up the City. The estimated end to this event is whenever dumpsters fill. Which could be a little as
one day. This service is completely free to you as a Wortham Water District customer. There will be no
exceptions to those without proof of residency.
Examples of things they will accept are:
- General garbage
- Furniture
- Smaller appliances (Some exceptions)
- Yard Waste
- Wood
Things that will not be accepted; - No hazardous materials
- No Paint cans of any kind (aerosol cans)
- No refrigerated items (anything with Freon)
- No tires
There is no limit to the times you can come back. There may not be someone readily available to help
you get the garbage into the Dumpsters. They ask that you come prepared with an extra set of hands to
ensure all items can be lifted and tossed in quickly to make room for the next customer.
There are efforts being made to have a similar event near Fall of 2023 to get rid of tires. More
