During the announcements portion at the end of Monday Nightโs meeting, Corsicana city councilman Will Jones officially issued his immediate resignation.

The resignation was accepted by all remaining council members and Mayor Joe Hill.
โWe appreciate the contributions and service of Councilman Jones; we wish him the best in his future endeavorsโ said Corsicana City Manager Jim Holgersson.
Praise from the city council members and City Staff followed Jonesโs officially notifying the council of his decision to resign, effective immediately.
Precinct 2 Councilwoman Shayla Johnson said, โWill served his precinct well, Iโm really going to miss him.โ
Corsicana City Council will need to appoint a replacement for Jones in the coming weeks, as it is more than 60 days until the next municipal election, according to City Attorney Kerri Donica.
