According to Corsicana Police, on Thursday morning, September 5, 2024 around 8:37 A.M., the Corsicana Police Department received a call about a possible deceased person in the area of East 8th Avenue and S. Frey St. On arrival, officers discovered the body of a Black Male subject who appeared to be in his late 60s.
Corsicana Police Chief Robert Johnson stated, “Preliminary investigation revealed that there were no visible wounds, marks or abrasions on the person. Further investigation also showed no signs of a violent death. A used crack pipe and a lighter were recovered with the deceased in a manner to indicate that he was using them when he passed away.”
The deceased has been identified and next of kin are being notified.
The remains will be sent for a forensic examination in order to determine the cause of death.
