Volunteer Fire Departments around Navarro County gathered at Overpass Bridges in Corsicana, Angus, and Richland to welcome DPS Trooper Curtis Putz home.

On January 31st, Trooper Putz kissed his wife Tosha before leaving for work. Little did he know that it would be more than 80 days before he would be able to walk back through that door in his home.

On January 31, 2023, Trooper Putz was working a major accident on I-45 during a bout of bad weather, when his patrol vehicle was struck by another vehicle. Putz was pinned under his patrol vehicle, making extrication difficult.

Within 90 minutes, Trooper Putz was being wheeled into Baylor Scott & White in Dallas. His many surgeries began almost immediately, while friends, family and co-workers prayed with everyone across the state.

His recovery has been miraculous and we know his family is glad to have him home!
