Registered Voters will head to the polls Tuesday, to select candidates in Texasโs Primary Election.
Voting locations across Freestone County will be open, allowing all registered voters to cast their ballots.
Polls will be open from 7 am -7pm.
Republicans have several choices to make while in the voting booth including propositions and statewide candidates, to decide upon.
Locally, registered Republicans will make decisions in several contested races including County Judge, Pct. 2 Commissioner, Pct. 3 Commissioner, Constable in Pct. 3 and Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace will also be on the ballot, along with the Freestone County GOP Chair.
Over the past several weeks candidates for these positions have participated in a number of candidate forums and meet and greets where each has the opportunity to interact with Freestone County voters.
County wide voters will select between County Judge candidates Lloyd Lane, Jeff Looney, and James Tyus.
In Pct. 2 the candidates for Commissioner are Will McSwane and Trent Harris
Pct. 3 voters will choose between Commissioner candidates Richard Mc Gowan and Jerred Swinburn
The Constable candidates for Pct. 3 are Jimmy โLJโ McAdams and Robert Willis. While Adam Minze is challenging Lisa Hendrix for Pct. 4 Justice of Peace.
Minze is currently a Deputy Constable compliance officer focused on catching those who dump trash in Navarro County.
Freestone County Republican Chairman Keith Turchi is being challenged by Linda Weldon.
There are also contested Precinct Chair races to decide.
Democrats will have the opportunity to choose statewide candidates and propositions.
Any candidate who fails to meet the 50% + 1 vote threshold will find themselves in a Runoff Election which will be held in May.
