Captain Nori Rhodes has been a fixture in the Corsicana Police Department for 30 years. She began her career as a recruit in 1996. The police department saw her potential and made a wise investment by sending her to the Navarro College Police Academy. Since then, she has proven to be a valuable asset to both the police department as well as the community. She worked her way up to captain from recruit promoting within the department and has served as a hostage negotiator as well as a criminal investigations liaison. Outside of her daily work within CPD she has also earned a Masterโs Peace Officerโs License and holds a bachelorโs in science in Criminal Justice.
It is not just the promotions and achievements that have kept Captain Rhodes loyal to the department. She states that โthe best part of working for the Corsicana Police Department is the people I get to work with both inside and outside of the organization.โ She values the connections she has made with others in the department explaining that โwhen you see the things, we do and go through some of what we do a special bond is created and itโs more like a familyโ. Captain Rhodes also gives gratitude to the people of the community for being supportive of the police and making the Corsicana Police Department a pleasant place to work.
Captain Rhodes has learned to put God and family first and counsels new peace officers that you will not remain in this challenging career for long without doing so. She also suggests keeping a journal of all the interesting cases that you are a part of. She understands that most people you encounter as a peace officer will have a bad day and reminds you to have empathy treating everyone you come across as though they were your own family member.
Captain Rhodes has a wealth of knowledge and experience yet remains humble.
She wants to take this moment in the spotlight to thank Corsicana and the police department for the opportunity to have served the community for thirty years.
