On March 29th, Officer Terry Jackson of the Kerens Police Department was dispatched to a private residential home on what was assumed to be a typical disturbance call. However, upon arrival, Officer Jackson observed a victim with blood pouring down her arm from several deep cuts and contusions- the result of a broken entryway window. Due to Officer Jackson’s quick thinking, he immediately helped her to lie down and began to administer first aid- applying a tourniquet on the spot in her driveway. The injured woman was transported by helicopter to Tyler, it is estimated that she lost around 5 pints of blood. She has since made a full recovery, and only suffers from the scars left behind. She is grateful to Officer Jackson for his lightning-fast response during an emergency in which a moment’s hesitation would have meant life or death. Thank you Officer Jackson for going above and beyond the call of duty to save a life.
