Corsicana students are ready to dive into a new school year after the crowd packed into
the CHS Commons on Saturday, August 3rd for the Back to School, Stay in School Rally.
The Calicos greeted every person as they entered the school, giving out free smiles and
high fives, pumping the children full of enthusiasm to return to the classrooms with
renewed vigor and give the upcoming school year everything they have got.
The nearly 50 local vendors, including Ciciโs, Walmart, Impact Communities, Navarro
College and so many more, loaded each person with so many school supplies that
several citizens resorted to wagons to haul their spoils. The JROTC, CHS Theater,
Cheerleaders, Student Council, and individual schools proudly displayed and informed
those who visited their demonstrations while the Navarro County Sherrifโs Department
and the Corsicana Firefighters, among others, handed out informational brochures and
played faire games as they shared anecdotes with the adults. The gym held free
beginning of the year haircuts so students could look their best and Corsicana Highโs
very own Tiger mascot stood ready to jump into pictures with the staff and students
alike.
Booths were packed full of fun activities and prizes and were managed by wellinformed staff, eager to pass on their knowledge. Every table greeted their guests with
welcoming smiles while the parents and students easily reciprocated. The joy for what
was to come in the near future was clear. 2024-2025 is looking to be a great school
year!
