NCGOP Women Donate To Angel Troop Support for Upcoming Holiday Season

The Republican Party of Navarro County Women’s group held its monthly luncheon on Tuesday at party headquarters in downtown Corsicana. The meeting featured guest speakers, organizational updates, and a charitable donation to a local military support initiative.

Cyndi Parrish, representing Corsicana Angel Troop Support, requested names of deployed service members for care package outreach. She emphasized donations throughout the year, including hygiene items, snacks, and small comfort goods. The Republican Women donated $300 to support the effort.

The group discussed party-line voting strategies ahead of the upcoming election and heard from Charles Raines, the group’s history speaker. Mr. Raines addressed concerns about Islamic influence in the U.S., referencing Sharia Law and the proposed EPIC City development in Collin and Hunt counties. He remarked: “We can coexist with Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs, Atheists, Agnostics, Baptists, Methodists. But there is no coexisting with somebody who is here to conquer.”

Evelyn Brooks, State Board of Education Member for District 14, spoke at length about her political values and legislative decisions. On her vote against the School Voucher Program, Brooks stated: “My oath is to preserve, protect, and to defend the Constitution. Sixty percent of Americans can’t read beyond a 6th grade level. I asked one of our statesmen, ‘how is the school voucher program going to improve the students’ reading, writing, and math?’ He couldn’t answer.” She added, “The bill will expand just like it has in the EU, Australia, and South Africa.” Brooks announced she will not seek re-election to the Board of Education and intends to run for Governor.
