The 8th annual Fuel the Firefighters Fundraiser was held on July 22nd at the Harbor Restaurant in Corsicana. This event raises funds to support the five departments that cover the Richland Chambers lake area- R/C 287, Eureka VFD, Kerens VFD, Mildred VFD, and Southern Oaks VFD. This year’s goal for fundraising was $100,000 and at the time of publication- funds were at $80,860. We will update you once the final numbers are calculated.
Despite the heat, there was a great turnout of attendees to enjoy the delicious barbeque meal prepared by the one and only Kevin Bludso, while the live entertainment provided by local band- the Fog, kept everyone dancing, toe-tapping and singing along. It was a truly beautiful experience to see neighbors and friends come together to support their own communities and those who work hard to protect it every day.
