Remembering Melanie: A Navarro County Treasure

Friends and family of the late Melanie Hyder gathered at the Navarro County Juvenile Detention offices on Friday to honor the former Juvenile Detention officer for her years of dedicated service to the citizens of Navarro County.
County Commissioners approved the placement of the plaque months ago in observance of her dedication.
“Melanie’s dedication to service in Navarro was second to none and she is considerably missed,” Commissioner Eddie Perry stated on Friday.
Hyder retired from the Juvenile Probation Department one year ago and passed a few months later. Jenny Bratton, of the Navarro County Child Advocacy Center, stated, “she is still missed very much by the entire board and staff of the Advocacy Center
