On September 20, 2025, the Rice Public Library celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month with a lively bilingual storytime. The event featured engaging stories in both English and Spanish, including Spanish is the Language of My Family by Michael Genhart and I’m Hungry! / ¡Tengo Hambre! by Angela Dominguez.
Attendees enjoyed singing “Buenos Días” in both languages, creating a warm and festive atmosphere filled with music, storytelling, and community connection.
In addition, guests had the opportunity to support local small businesses by purchasing delicious coffee and conchas from Latina entrepreneurs Joana Zavala of Iced by Jo and Brenda Patlan of Simple & Sweet Treats.
Coming up on October 2, 2025, the Rice Public Library will host a special event at the Rice Elementary Cafeteria from 5:30 to 7:00 PM.
Join them in celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with a bilingual story time, food, and a performance by Ballet Folklorico Mi Lindo Estado.
