On Monday evening, the Navarro County Republican Party members and guests held their monthly meeting with 11 of the 17 precinct chairs present.
Current Treasurer Dana Collins offered her Treasurer’s reports, noting that a total of $26,529.00 was raised for the NAVGOP over the past year, while expenses totaled$27,043.00. Although this is a shortfall, there is hope in which increasing fundraising efforts next year will help close the gap, according to Collins.
Several candidates were in attendance to deliver their announcements to run for political office.
Kim Cobb spoke for County Judge candidate Darrell Cobb, who had other commitments scheduled.
County Judge candidate Colby Karhan, also spoke to the members and guests in attendance about his intention and plans for the office of County Judge.
US Congressional candidate James Buford also regaled the group of his plans for the campaign.
Navarro County Treasurer candidate Jane McCollum stood up to inform about her experience in the Treasurer’s office.
Closing out the candidates’ discussion was Texas State Representative Candidate Daniel Hunt. Hunt previously served as Henderson County GOP Chair, and only vacated his position to run for State Representative against incumbent Cody Harris.
