On Wednesday evening at approximately 10:00 PM, the Navarro County Sheriff’s Office Tactical Team Division was deployed to support the Texas Rangers and the Rice Police Department in locating and apprehending a suspect connected to an active homicide investigation in Rice.
A
tactical team, crisis negotiators, and a drone unit were dispatched to a residence on Northeast County Road 1060 in Rice. The location was identified as the suspect’s address; however, two individuals were found to be residing there, neither of whom matched the description of the suspect.
Subsequently, during the investigation, officers proceeded to the Quality Inn in Corsicana shortly after midnight.
According to a press release issued by Navarro County Sheriff Elmer Tanner, “On November 13, 2025, at approximately 12:50 AM, the suspect was located and apprehended without incident by the NCSO Tactical Team inside a room at the location.”
The Texas Rangers and Rice Police Department are jointly conducting the criminal investigation into the homicide in Rice.
This remains an active investigation, and no additional details will be provided until its conclusion.
