Total Point is currently developing a dozen new sites in 2024 including an acute care hospital in DFW and several Ambulatory Surgery Centers. The company CEO Cory Countryman works at the corporate office in Dallas overseeing the operations, quality, and compliance of approximately 350 practitioners, doctors, nurses, and office workers. As a single father he understands the need for clinics to have short wait times, quality of care, and great customer service. The clinic in Corsicana opened in June 2022 and Cory visits often ensuring Navarro County residents’ needs are met. Before beginning his career in healthcare and after a four-year tour in the US Navy, Cory earned his Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in Business from Dallas Baptist University and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin. He is a current member of Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Paralyzed Veterans of America, the Make-A-Wish Foundation and American College of Healthcare Executives. Down to earth and a pleasure to talk to, he is a detail-oriented CEO that makes sure Total Point Healthcare is one of his top priorities and he looks forward to many more years of service providing excellent healthcare to individuals.
One of the Physician Assistant’s that Cory oversees is Edward Gelber who came to Corsicana when the clinic opened in June 2022, he is considered a “float” as he travels to other clinics such as Desoto, Athens, and others. His extensive knowledge, background, history, and degrees aid in being one of the best Physician Assistants that Corsicana has. He received his Licensed Vocational Nursing Degree and Associate of Science at Hartnell College in 1988, and his Bachelor of Science Physician associate degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1991. Born in Frankfurt Germany on an Army base, he moved all over as his father was an Army Colonel. He joined the Navy ROTC in 9th grade and spent his Senior year in Houghton, Michigan. In the Army he was a Medic, Paramedic, Licensed Vocational Nurse, and Physician Assistant in the Army for 17 years. After the Army, he joined the Navy for a year working at a Nuclear Submarine Base in Bremerton, Washington. After 2003 he went into the IRR (Individual Ready Reserve). He has affiliations with the Texas Film Commission, Army National Guard Association, American Academy of Physician Assistants and more. He is even worked on set during covid to aid in covid compliance, rules/guidelines, and contact tracing for the crew/Actors during the movie production “Samaritan” with Sylvester Stallone and Stunt Director J.J. Perry, an American Director who filmed movies like Fast & Furious.
