Last Thursday morning, two Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol Troopers were struck by a pickup truck while they were assisting a disabled vehicle on Interstate Highway 45 near the 235 mile marker.
The Troopers were both outside of the patrol unit when the pickup truck hit their patrol unit and then struck the two Troopers.

Both Troopers were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and the driver of the pickup truck that hit the Troopers was not injured.

IH-45 at the location of the crash was temporarily closed, and traffic was detoured while the investigation is ongoing.

Statement issued by Sergeant Chris Williamson, Texas DPS Safety Education/ Media and Communications officer.
