Just after midnight on Friday night, Corsicana Police were dispatched to the 2900 Block of West 2nd Avenue in Corsicana after a 911 call was received regarding a quadruple homicide. Upon arrival, CPD officers located two deceased persons – now being identified as Connie and Bill Mimms. Both had suffered fatal gunshot wounds. On further investigation, two additional gunshot victims were located and transported by air ambulance to a Dallas area Trauma Center.

During this investigation, Navarro County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a second location near the intersection of Garrity and Stroud Streets in Frost, Texas. According to a press release issued on Saturday morning by CPD Chief Robert Johnson, NCSO deputies found the bodies of an adult male and a child. As of Saturday evening, the victims were identified as Joshua Milazzo, 21 and Hunter Freeman, aged 4 years. A third victim was located with multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to a Dallas area trauma center.

Corsicana Police Detectives were able to identify and track the suspect, Kevin Milazzo, 41, by a vehicle’s GPS Navigation System. Multiple Corsicana Police units, CPD SWAT, and NCSO deputies searched for and intercepted the suspect vehicle, on FM 1129, just south of Roane Rd.

CPD Chief Johnson stated, “At that time, we instructed the monitoring service to remotely turn off the vehicle’s engine. As the vehicle came to a full stop off of the roadway, Corsicana SWAT officers approached the vehicle to find the suspect critically injured from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.” Dr. Mathew Branch, MD, also a certified SWAT police officer, administered treatment at the scene. Ambulance personnel transported the suspect to Navarro Regional Hospital, where he expired from his injuries.

Kevin Milazzo, has been identified as the son of Connie Mimms, stepson of Bill Mimms, and father of Joshua Milazzo. The 4 year old was determined to be the son of a former girlfriend of Milazzo.

Police have not released the names of the injured persons as the incident is still under investigation.
