Our area volunteer fire departments are in need of assistance!

From Blooming Grove to Kerens to Dawson and Pursley – VFD’s are in danger of ceasing to exist.

Have you ever thought about volunteering for your area? Do you want to help your community?

Here is how you can help – These local departments need many things, but their biggest need is YOU! With more than twenty three departments in Navarro County in need of members, you can choose which department you join.

To join a volunteer fire department, you must meet basic age and health requirements, have a valid driver’s license, and pass a background check.

First, contact your local fire department to learn their specific process and minimum requirements. The next steps involve submitting an application, completing training, and participating in any required physical or psychological evaluations.
