If you’re looking for a new venue to check out around Navarro County to shop or eat, you should head on over to the Olive Branch Eatery by Thyme & Elegance.
This woman owned small business is a delicious eatery, kitchen, home retail and rental space located at 409 N. Beaton Street Corsicana, Texas. It’s open Monday-Friday 10am-4pm and Sunday 10am-2pm.
Owner Suzanne Plyer loves to learn and master new ideas and techniques with her recipes, and has cooked gluten free, low carb, vegetarian and vegan meals for customers. Olive Branch Eatery is the place to go if you love to shop, eat, and if you’re looking for a gift idea. Items at the store include Mudpie, Texas olive oils, Frasier Fir, Gourmet foods/mixes/cocktail mixers, Texas gear, household and kitchen items, gift baskets and so much more. Breakfast and Lunch is served daily offering homemade soups, sandwiches, salads, and stuffed avocados. Breakfast items available all day include low carb muffins, everything Bagels, Mexi-Cali Hash Bowl, and Quiche. The most popular menu items are the chicken salad and Reuben sandwich. If you’re wanting a healthy option, check out the Lean & Green menu with soup options and entrée. Gift cards and wedding registries are available in store.
Thyme and Elegance was the catering side of the business that began 15 years ago, and since getting the opportunity to cook for a wedding for the daughter of her friend, she realized that cooking and seeing guests enjoy themselves was her real passion. Since then, she has catered many events, private parties on different lakes around Texas, countless weddings, and even Governor Abbott and the Netflix Crew during their two seasons of filming “Cheer” in Corsicana. Cocktail parties are her favorite to cook for. Suzanne and Mark Plyer have three children and daughter Erin works and cooks at the Olive Branch, and her husband of over 30 years loves to help especially if a grill is involved. After meeting two friends, Emily Lawhon and Heidi Carmichael the trio started the Old Lumberyard Food & Finds together with lots of antiques, and Grab & Go food. Suzanne had the chance in September 2021 to rent another building downtown (Olive Branch) and opened in July 2022 and she couldn’t be happier living her dream.
Olive Branch Eatery hosts many events including the most recent Christmas open house that took place November 6th with giveaways, holiday cocktails, light snacks, and of course visiting with friends while enjoying the holiday décor. Other events hosted are Ladies night, Mimosas at the market, and the already sold-out Christmas Charcuterie class on November 28th where holiday-inspired board making, and complimentary wine will commence. They also have had live music featuring Chaser Crouch and others. More downtown events include Food Truck Friday and Fun town pep rally 12/1, Festival of lights 12/2, Mimosas at the Market 12/9, and a Christmas treat trio class on 12/17 where you can learn three delicious Christmas treat recipes and taste holiday drinks. Ticketed events include the Charcuterie class and a Salsa making class. “I want to thank all our friends and customers who are making our dreams come true,” said Suzanne. She also wants to thank Amy Tidwell (Main Street Director) for all her event planning and her passion for downtown Corsicana businesses.
