The positive media coverage of Corsicana in recent years has showcased the city and people in a variety of ways, including artists, writers, directors, beauty queens, cheer athletes, food challengers, and sky shows.  Now, the popular television show Expedition Texas, covering lost history in Texas, is featuring Corsicana in a spotlight pilot series airing this Sunday, June 23 at 12:30 p.m. on CW33.

Corsicana was the first city show host Bob Mauldin contacted when the pilot series was planned.  The show airs on eight networks in major cities in Texas and through Heartland TV Network, available to millions of homes nationwide.

Also, this weekend a film shot in Corsicana will be seen at the Bishop Arts Theatre Center as its Texas debut.  Love and Work, directed by Pete Ohs, is part of the Oak Cliff Film Festival and its 13-year history of bringing unique and hard-to-categorize films to North Texas. This year, the festival delivers 27 features and 58 short films from around the world, and in our case, just down the freeway.

D Magazine featured Love and Work as one of six films to focus on, about a couple who love to work, but are living in a polarized world where having a job is illegal.

Director and Screenwriter Pete Ohs was familiar with Corsicana, having experienced the historic, quiet small-town charm while a resident at the Corsicana Artist & Writers Residency.  The film cast is Stephanie Hunt, Will Madden and Frank Mosley.  There are hopes the film will be shown this fall in Corsicana.
