The Navarro College Foundation hosted its annual “Dancing for Our Stars” fundraiser on February 14, 2026, at the Cook Education Center. This year’s event embraced a vibrant Mardi Gras theme, filling the evening with festive décor, lively entertainment, and a strong sense of community spirit — all in support of Navarro College students and faculty.
The fundraiser benefits student scholarships and provides grants to faculty to encourage the adoption of new teaching pedagogies, innovative methods of delivery, active learning strategies, course redesign, and classroom technology improvements. Over the years, the event has raised more than $1 million in support of these efforts.
Organizers set a fundraising goal of $107,000 for the evening — and by the end of the celebration, that goal had been surpassed, with a total of $108,000 raised. Foundation representatives expressed sincere gratitude for the continued generosity of the community and the lasting impact the event has had on students and campus programs.
This year’s dance participants included Corey and Jordan Harrelson; Seth and Danica Watson; Kevin and Lisa Eubanks; Jared and Amy Casey; Hunter and Katie Melton; and Clint and Tami Andrews. Each couple took the stage with enthusiasm, entertaining the crowd while raising funds for a meaningful cause.
Judges for the evening included Jarrod McGhee, Amy Tidwell, Waylon Ivie, and Kasie Gordon, who evaluated the performances as attendees also showed their support for their favorite dancers.
Adding to the Mardi Gras atmosphere, saxophonist Danny Phillips provided live entertainment that complemented the celebratory theme of the night.
While the event focused on fundraising, it also featured friendly competition. Hunter and Katie Melton were awarded the coveted disco ball trophy and dedicated their dance to Katie’s grandmother, creating a heartfelt moment amid the festivities.
“Dancing for Our Stars” once again proved to be more than just a fundraiser — it was a celebration of generosity, community pride, and continued investment in the future of Navarro College students.
