The VFA held a meeting on Tuesday to discuss the bylaws in regards to membership and benefits. It was decided by majority vote that dues must be paid by or before the third meeting of the calendar year in order to be eligible to get benefits from the association and its various programs, including a grant funded Active 911 subscription.
The VFA also reelected their president, vice president and secretary treasurer in a ballad vote with no contested opponents. Ending item was the discussion on upcoming fundraisers for each department.
Southern Oaks VFD is hosting a fish fry from 5PM to 7PM at $8 per person on September 28th.
Blooming Grove is holding a fish fry on October 5th at 5PM with an auction to start at 7PM. No fee.
Silver City is hosting a beans and chili fundraiser on October 19th at 6PM. Cost is $10 per person with a raffle for a firearm and a BBQ pit.
Barry VFD is holding a BBQ on November 2nd from 5PM to 7PM with more information to follow soon.
Angus VFD is hosting a chili, beans and cornbread come-and-go dinner on November 9th from 5PM to 7PM. More information coming soon.
