The Navarro County Sheriff’s Office has added an additional arson charge to Salvador Sandoval, the suspect in the Napoli’s and Cocina Azteca fires.
The additional case, a vehicle fire that occurred on March 6, 2025, on FM 1604 near Chatfield, has been under investigation since that date and the NCSO Criminal Investigations Division detectives believe Sandoval is the prime suspect in the case. According to public information, Sandoval has been officially charged in this case.
Sheriff Elmer Tanner stated, “The arrest warrant for arson was obtained by NCSO detectives in reference to the investigation of a reported vehicle fire on March 6, 2025 that occurred on FM 1603.”
He continued, “Our detectives have now obtained evidence as well as probable cause in the case that led to the issuance of an arrest warrant for Arson in reference to the vehicle fire.”
With the additional arson charge, Sandoval is currently being held at the Navarro County Justice Center on bonds totaling $750,000.00, set by Navarro County Justices of the Peace Precinct 1 Greta Jordan on October 18 and Precinct 2 Darrell Waller, setting the additional arson bond at $75,000.00, on Friday morning.
