The City of Corsicana and the Parks Department are thrilled to invite the
entire community to participate in a historic event that will celebrate our city’s 175th
anniversary in a unique way. We are hosting a special drone photo session that will capture the
outline of the number “175” formed by our community members.
This exciting event will take place on:
**Date:** October 12, 2023
**Time:** 5:30 PM
**Location:** Corsicana Government Center
The highlight of this gathering will be our time capsule ceremony, which will take place
immediately following the drone photo at the Corsicana Government Center. During the
ceremony, the items contributed by the community will be on display, showcasing the rich
history and heritage of Corsicana. Additionally, there will be a variety of food trucks to enjoy,
adding to the festive atmosphere.
As a special treat, we are excited to announce that one of the best bands in America, Emerald
City, known as the house band of Dallas, will be performing during the event. They brought
amazing energy to the 175th Gala, and they will be the perfect addition to the final community
celebration. Emerald City will take the stage from 7 to 9 p.m., ensuring an unforgettable evening
for all attendees.
But the real magic happens with the community photo! We invite everyone to join us and be a
part of this commemorative photo. As we stand together in the outline of “175,” we will create a
lasting image that represents the unity and strength of our community. This photograph will be
placed inside the time capsule, ensuring that our collective spirit is preserved for generations to
come.
Additionally, digital copies of this community photograph will be available for purchase so that
every Corsicana resident can have a piece of this historic moment.
