Today in Freestone County, the valuation for the property formerly known as Fairfield Lake State Park has been decided.
The 3 person commission, appointed by Judge David Brabham last month, is comprised of Justin Lee, Freestone County rancher and realtor, Nanette Harwell, Freestone County banker, and Taylor German, well-known realtor across many counties, including Freestone.
The panel heard arguments from both TPWD and landowner Shawn Todd, of Todd Interests, beginning on Monday and made a decision on Wednesday morning.
Over the course of the near year-long debate, Todd has consistently stated, “Todd Interests is NOT a willing seller.”
TPWD argued the valuation at $85 million, while TI argued $475 mil, citing the valuation of the water rights.
After the two day debate, the property has been valued at $418+ million.
Both parties have a right to appeal the decision made today.
