Navarro County Sheriff Announces Promotions

It is official. Clint Andrews, current Captain of CID at the Navarro County Sheriff’s’ Department, will fill the shoes of the NCSO Chief Deputy Morris Steward. Chief Steward will retire officially on November 30th.

Here is a little about Chief Andrews –

While attending the Navarro College Police Academy in 2002, Captain Andrews worked as a correctional officer at the Navarro County Jail, until his graduation in December of 2003. Andrews began his field training and was promoted quickly through the NCSO Patrol Division, but his real dedication and passion was through the CID Division.

Following the path of Sheriff Tanner and Chief Steward – in October of 2006, Captain Andrews was transferred and promoted as Sergeant under Captain Andrews attributes many of his skills to the duo, stating, “Everything I know, I learned from their mentorship.”

Sheriff Elmer Tanner stated, “I want to congratulate Captain Clint Andrews on his promotion to Chief Deputy of the NCSO.

Chief Deputy Andrews has previously worked in corrections, patrol, narcotics and criminal investigations. Chief Deputy Andrews also served as Assistant Commander of the NCSO Tactical Team. I hope you will join us in wishing Clint all the best in his new position as Chief Deputy of the NCSO.”

NCSO CID Lieutenant Kevin Scott has been promoted to Captain of the Criminal Investigations Division. Captain Scott has over 23 years of combined law enforcement experience, from corrections to Detective.

Sheriff Tanner stated, “Captain Scott previously worked in corrections and patrol for the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office before joining the NCSO where he has worked in patrol and criminal investigations. I hope you will join me in wishing Kevin all the best in his new position as CID Captain.”
