NCYE Begins on Wednesday

The Navarro County Youth Expo starts this Wednesday at the Exposition Center.
The show begins with the afternoon arrival of Agriculture Mechanic entries and ends on April 2nd with the annual Steak Lunch at 11:30 AM.
The history of the NCYE began in the late 1950’s, originally sponsored by the Corsicana Chamber of Commerce. The historic first Expo offered beef cattle, dairy cattle, sheep, swine and poultry, in addition to a Dress Revue, the Queen’s Contest, and arts and crafts.
Today’s Expo features more than 1,500 entries across the county and more than 5,000 in attendance during the full 9 days.
NCYE, as it has become affectionately known throughout the county, is headed up by an executive committee with General Chairpersons Billy Roughton and David Atkinson. Also serving on the NCYE Executive Board are: Donnette East – Recording Secretary; JD Johnston – Agriculture Chairperson; Vicki Arnett – Famiy and Consumer Sciences; Lance Waggoner – Premium Sale Chairperson; Chuck Rash – Steak Lunch Chair; Kipp Thomas – Show Operations/Facilities Chair; Andrew Lewis – County Ag Extension Agent/ 4-H Representative’; Harry Dotson – Ag Science Teacher FFA Representative; and Members at Large – Mike Gage, Dan Waggoner, and Pat Reed.
